Les Glycines was originally a large working farm where people lived in one half of the house and animals in the other with hay and corn being stored in the loft above! Over the years it has been converted to an extremely high standard retaining much of the original charm and character, but with the addition of all the modern comforts! Now, like a small Country House Hotel, it offers delightful bedrooms (many with en-suite facilities) which are light, spacious and tastefully decorated in soft colours to enhance the exposed beams.
Situated in an extremely peaceful and tranquil setting on the edge of a small hamlet, Les Glycines is surrounded by fields of corn, sunflowers and Parthenaise cattle being a breed of the region. Only 5 minutes walk away is the Château de Coudray-Salbart - a well preserved 13th Century fortress overlooking the meandering Sèvres-Niortaise river and traditional wash-house. Echiré village, famous worldwide for it's butter, is just 5 minutes drive (2km) and offers a large supermarket, bakery, fresh fish, delicatessen as well as pharmacy, riding school/pony club and petrol forecourt.
A wonderful, relaxing holiday in a truly beautiful setting. The owner was so helpful, she even baked a cake for our daughters birthday!
